Santa Monica Proper marries the character of a 1928 landmark building with contemporary architecture and world-class interiors by Kelly Wearstler. The first luxury lifestyle hotel to open in Santa Monica in over a decade, Proper boasts three restaurant-bar destinations, including Onda, a collaboration between chefs Jessica Koslow of Sqirl and Gabriela Cámara of Mexico City’s Contramar, and panoramic ocean and city views from the only rooftop pool deck and restaurant-lounge on the Westside. Borrow one of our surfboards and hit the beach, or work out in our 24-hour, 2,500 square-foot fitness centre, followed by a treatment in our very own outpost of Surya Ayurvedic Spa. Anything less just wouldn’t be Proper.

Santa Monica Proper offers over 24,000 square feet of Kelly Wearstler-designed flexible space, including four meeting rooms, a ballroom, courtyards and terraces, and the area’s only rooftop pool-deck-restaurant with panoramic ocean views. Proper’s events team offers multi-layered personalization, with market-driven catering menus for indoor and outdoor meetings, weddings, special events, and private dining.
