Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank, known as the “Bank of Presidents.”

Riggs opened its doors in February 2020 – reimagined for the modern traveler in the city’s thriving Penn Quarter. 

The property features 181 guest rooms and suites, paying homage to the building’s legacy with small touches like each room having its own safety deposit box, all thoughtful details drawing on a narritive inspired by the golden age of banking. The heart and soul of the hotel is the ground floors all-occasion European brasserie-inspired Cafe Riggs, as well as a vault basement bar from the internationally-acclaimed, London-based Mr Lyan team.

Our unique feature is our rooftop meeting space offering 4,000 total square feet of versatile event space. We also offer two private dining rooms for business lunches or dinners for up to 18 persons.
