This meticulously restored Spanish Colonial Revival architectural gem is completely new from the ground up other than the original 1925 façade from the original historical structure. It is furnished with Mid-century Moorish décor, sourced by elite Interior Designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard. The 121 guest rooms and suites, many with balcony views of the ocean and mountains are nestled within 4 buildings closely separated by enclosed and secure paseos, gardens and courtyards. The rooftop pool deck offers 180 degree views of Santa Barbara Bay and The Pier. This urban sanctuary offers an intimate, bespoke and restorative experience. The Turkish inspired 2,500 square-foot spa features 6 treatment rooms. Standout features include an exotic, geometric blue-and-white tile lounge, a soothing private garden with waterfalls and a steam room. For your clients considering a group event we offer a 3,300-square foot ballroom, with capacity for 225 people, which will boast panoramic vistas of the ocean and mountains and feature the most advanced technology and A/V equipment for meetings, weddings, and social functions. Additional meeting space Includes one pristine boardroom and four meeting rooms that are comfortably suited for meetings, retreats or socials of twenty to sixty persons. A 2,645-square foot indoor/outdoor restaurant will showcase exquisite Mediterranean cuisine, shining a spotlight on the bounty of local produce, seafood from local fishermen and wine from the nearby region. The Hotel Californian is a scenic two-hour drive from downtown Los Angeles. The Santa Barbara Union Amtrak station is one block from the hotel for those who want to leave the car at home, kick back and enjoy the scenic and relaxing coastal ride.
