The location is particularly strategic, at the center of the capital’s most important artistic triangle. A few steps away are Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican City and Castel S. Angelo. Ponte Sisto leads to via della Lungara and to the most vivid and least touristy part of the Trastevere district, the warm belly of the Roman nightlife.

Behind Via Giulia, in the opposite direction of the Tiber, you reach Campo de ‘Fiori and the elegant Piazza Farnese with the austere and homonymous Palace – designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger and completed by Michelangelo – which now houses the Embassy of France.

Just around the corner, two adjacent squares hide treasures to be rediscovered: Piazza della Quercia with the Church of Santa Maria della Quercia and Piazza Capo di Ferro, which leads to Palazzo Spada and its art gallery. Here, among other works, the famous fake perspective by Borromini is kept.

A short distance away is also the Ghetto, with its ancient Judeo-Roman culinary traditions and places of great artistic interest, including the Fontana delle Tartarughe designed by Giacomo Della Porta. Not just architectural highlights, though.

The slow rhythms of the district lead to regenerating walks and relaxed reading at the outdoor tables of the many bars and bistros of an omnivore-proof neighborhood.
