Nepal

Nepal is undoubtably one of my favourite countries in the world. Flying into Kathmandu over the breath-taking Himalayan foothills fills me with excitement every single time I go. But there is a lot more to this fascinating country than Mount Everest and the Himalayas. Nepal lies sandwiched between two superpowers - India and China - yet it still manages to retain a culture that is distinctly its own. I would recommend venturing away from the large, modern hotels in the city and stay at Dwarika’s, a beautifully designed, family owned property just a short drive from the airport which offers a peaceful haven from the busy Kathmandu streets and works perfectly as a base for exploring the city. The organised chaos of Kathmandu is fantastic – the colours, the noise, the smells, the number of cars, bikes, people and animals everywhere is nothing like you can imagine. There is plenty to see and experience in this enthralling city, from beautiful religious sites like Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath to the bustling Thamel region with its souvenir shops, climbing outlets, cafes and bars. Outside of Kathmandu, there are endless places to visit, things to do and sights to see. From some of the best trekking routes in the world, white water rafting, paragliding, an unforgettable flight over Everest or a trip Tiger spotting in Chitwan National Park, Nepal really is a country of incredible culture and limitless adventurous opportunities. The people are friendly, kind and welcoming wherever you go and whether you visit on holiday or run an incentive there, it’ll be guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience.
