VILLA CASTAGNOLA The Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola is a property of immense charm, nestled within a private, subtropical park on the shores of Lake Lugano. Today’s Villa Castagnola blends the splendour of a Grand Hotel with the warmth and comfort of a private home. The Villa is admired for its elegant atmosphere and is the ideal environment for business, at any time of the year. 74 rooms, including 32 Suites and Junior Suites, where timeless elegance alternates with modern comfort. Rooms, Junior Suites and Suites have stunning park and/or lake views, balcony, terrace or loggia. CONFERENCE/MEETING ROOMS Each of the 10 meeting rooms, with capacities up to 120 people, have an elegant décor, original artworks, park view. Directly overlooking the park, all the rooms have large windows and are equipped with the high-tech audio/visual equipment. These includes, for example, video conference,etc… TEAM BUILDING AND INCENTIVES A wide range of activities, to reinforce the team spirit, is available in house and in the surroundings. Some interesting activities are: regional wine tasting, cocktail making classes, Cooking classes with our Chefs or private boat cruises, casino evening, private museum visits. GASTRONOMY The new Restaurant “La Rucola”, born under the motto “Fresh & Easy Dining”, offers light and delicious meals in a cosy and informal setting. The menu has been created by our Executive Chef Christian Bertogna, in charge of the Restaurant Le Relais. In an elegant and refined setting, at Le Relais Restaurant (15 GaultMillau points) our Chef Christian Bertogna offers a light and innovative Mediterranean cuisine – an irresistible balance of colours and delicate flavours. The award-winning Restaurant Galleria Arté al Lago is the pride of the Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola. A unique restaurant in Ticino inside an art gallery, overlooking the waters of Lake Lugano, offering a breathtaking view. It has 16 Gault&Millau points and is the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Lugano. The lavish rooms host works of art by various artists of international renown, with themed exhibitions that change twice a year, creating an exclusive setting. Head Chef Frank Oerthle, awarded ‘newcomer chef of the year 2009‘ for Ticino, has been at the restaurant since it was opened in 2001. He translates his culinary passion into an innovative and tempting selection of dishes, with signature menus based on sea and freshwater fish. A chef who loves to stay in touch with people; he prepares simple yet creative dishes with passion and an eye for detail. A true culinary artist, who devotes his life to epicurean passion for the delight of his guests. The gastronomic offer includes coffee breaks, elegant cocktails,testingmenus, business lunches and dinner. Private banquetting facilities are available at the restaurants.
