About

COMO Cocoa Island is an intimate private island in the Maldives, located among South Malé’s sandy atolls. It’s just 40 minutes by speedboat transfer from Male International Airport, though it feels far away from the bustle of everyday life. The newly renovated resort is home to an impressive house reef wrapped in chalk-white beaches and turquoise waters, with a long sandbank extending into the ocean like a runway.

The villas – each reached by wooden walkways – are surrounded by water as clear as gin, where sealife can be seen swimming near the glassy surface. Some villas are in the shape of traditional ‘dhoni’ fishing boats, while others have their own private pools: all are the quintessential picture of the Maldives, with overwater decks that allow guests to slip seamlessly in and out of the ocean.

The familial, easygoing island spirit is enhanced by the natural materials used in the design: clean-lined, airy interiors with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows merge the inside and outside spaces, making the resort feel as much a part of the intimate island as the palm trees that scatter the beaches.
